Poseidon Ocean Systems is an award-winning cleantech product development company. We design cleantech systems for our living oceans, primarily for the aquaculture industry. The company was founded in 2015 by Heather and Matt Clarke

Poseidon is headquartered in Campbell River, BC Canada, with an additional office in Puerto Montt, Chile. Poseidon also has established distribution partnerships throughout the UK, Norway and Australasia.
The company provides a wide range of products and services tailored to the aquaculture and marine industries, both locally and internationally. Poseidon Ocean Systems is an equal opportunity employer.

OUR TEAM

CEO, Director

Jamie Gaskill

Jamie joins Poseidon with thirty years of experience across the entire salmon farming value chain including smolt production, sea farming, in-sea closed systems, harvesting and processing. Eighteen of those years were as a Director with the world’s largest salmon farming company in leadership and management roles including Managing Director and Freshwater and Seawater Production Director.

Heather Clarke

Heather is the Co-Founder of Poseidon, and responsible for all operations and production activities within the company. Heather is passionate about salmon farming and currently serves on the Board of Directors for BC Salmon Farming Industry (BCSFA) as well as the Canadian Aquaculture Industry Alliance (CAIA). She has also previously served on the boards of Vancouver Island Economic Alliance (VIEA), Habitat for Humanity Vancouver Island North, and Campbell River Rotary.

Matt Clarke

Matt is a Professional Engineer and formerly the head of engineering for a major Canadian Aquaculture company. Matt is responsible for the overall vision and creative direction of the company—based on his first-hand experience in the industry, he has a good understanding of the challenges that exist on a modern farm and where our team can create effective solutions for the industry.

Toni-Marie Lashta

Toni joins Poseidon with more than 20 years of accounting experience in across various industries including natural resources, engineering and architecture. She holds robust experience in the areas of financial reporting, internal controls, financial planning and forecasting . Toni is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Victoria.

Mauricio Cerda

Mauricio joins Poseidon with nearly 20 years of experience in the aquaculture industry in Chile. Mauricio spent many years as a sea-farming as a Site Manager before moving into Technical Sales and Engineering roles. Mauricio is responsible for sales team leadership as well as general management responsibilities for the expansion of Poseidon’s operations within Latin America.

Workplace Safety

Many aquaculture tasks border on dangerous. Working in and around water, working alone and sometimes at night compounds that danger. The fact is, slips, trips, and falls are major causes of injury.

Although it’s impossible to eliminate dangerous tasks, Poseidon Ocean Systems designs net pens and cages to maximize safety and ensure that safety standards are met throughout the world.

For example, to minimize the risk of trips and falls we design cage systems with feed line piping and aeration hoses under the decking. This allows workers to perform their daily tasks safely and efficiently. Furthermore, our aeration/oxygen panels are certified by Technical Safety BC.
